STAMPEEEEDE.

So, today I went to the Stampede with Natalie and Christa-Marie. Natalie wanted to get in free, so we had to wake up uber early to get there for free admission. It was fun. We went on bunch of rides. Well, more than I normally go on I guess. We went on the log ride (of course), the ferris wheel, "Alpine Bob's" (twice), this really lame "Haunted Mansion" ride, a gondola thing, and some others that I can't remember. We went to the Round-Up Centre, and looked around in there (as is customary), and we saw.. wait for it... wait for it... THE SHAMWOW!!!! It was so awesome. We even bought some. The running deal was buy one get one free, but since there were three of us, we asked if we could do three for ten bucks each. The guy was like " Well, just for you, but don't tell my boss." Of course, that's what all salespeople at fairs and such say, because they want to sell their products right? Right. But we gave the guy some more (unneeded) advertisement by using the word "Shamwow" in pretty much every sentence we used for the next few minutes. It got a little old, but it became a bit of a running joke throughout the day.
OH YEAH and I tried deep fried Coke. Oh my goodness gracious. It was so not cool. It kinda tasted like mini-donuts, and it kinda tasted like sweet and sour chicken. So weird.
Also, when we moved on to games, there was this one game where you had to roll a bowling ball up a track and over this little bump. You had to use enough force to get it over the bump, but not too much, because it had to stay in the valley. I wasted so much money there. It was addicting. I just kept saying, "THIS SHOULD BE EASY, COME ON ONE MORE, I CAN DO IT." I couldn't. I also kinda felt like the Carnies were out to get me. They were all like "oooooh try this game. Oooooh I'll give you this prize if you play once more, even if you lose. Ooooooh I bet you're thirsty, buy a coke! Ooooooh you look like you would like a bear. Oooooh SPEND MONEY!!! ARGH!!" IT was intimidating, because there were so many more of them than me, and I almost fell for it once. Well, more than once, but I got REALLY close this one time.
On the plus side, we saw Caroline, Kathleen, Mikhaila, and Marco! It was funny, because they were in line for this one ride, and Mikhaila saw me but I gave her that look like "SHHH. I'M NOT HERE." She played along, and looked back to her conversation, and then Marco screamed out something, acknowledging my presence, but again, I did the zip it thing. I was originally just going to kinda scream "Boo" or something like that to Kathleen, but since I had just taken a sip of water, I had been given inspiration. I splashed my unsuspecting victim on the back. It was funny. And these guys who were standing behind them in line apparently thought it was quite hilarious as well. Well, really only one guy; his friend didn't seem to be the laughing type. After this incident, we kept seeing Mikhaila, Kathleen, Marco, and Caroline everywhere. That was fun. But the weird thing was that I kept seeing the laughing guy EVERYWHERE. Like, more than my actual friends. It was creepy. He was kinda cute though, so it wasn't that bad (hehe). Oh yes, and obviously one of the highlights of the day was that I saw so many cute guys. That was fun. Wow, I'm original. Oh well.
Uh..... So I think that's all I have to say about that... Oh and my legs really hurt from walking all day. Like REALLY hurt. It's not fun. Ah well.

MINI DONUTS. WOO.

Well, The end is here. Grade eight is forever behind me. I will miss so many people so much, and I'm really going to miss some teachers.
I started out the year feeling alone because even though nobody in my class (that I knew of) disliked me, none of my really good friends were in the class. (Except Gio). But as I started settling in, I felt really comfortable, and I got to know a whole bunch of really nice people (and some, not so nice). This has been one of the best school years I've ever had, and I'm going to miss so many things about it; so many memories. It's hard to believe that the year is done. Next year, we will be the "leaders" of the entire school. The oldest kids. I'm looking forward to actually accomplish the goals that I have set for myself, and I'm fairly confident that it will be a great year as well. At least most of the teachers are fine; it's not like other years when I was like "OMG I DON'T WANNA BE IN THAT CLASS." No, all the homeroom teachers are pretty cool. Same science teacher though. So I guess I have to work a little harder and push myself if I really want to be an Honours with Distinction student. I just hope I get a good class, student-wise.
I know this entry was a little bit late for end of school, but I've had other things to do, and I couldn't really be bothered to LiveJournal.

Camp Rock

Ok, as much as I hate to admit it, I really enjoyed Camp Rock. So sue me; it had very catchy songs. However, I do think that it was very much like Raise Your Voice. The girl goes to a music camp, falls in love, meets some new friends, some people that want her to fail miserably, and in the end, the girl who is unexpectedly very good (and not one of the main characters) wins the top prize. So yes, very much like Raise Your Voice. Lucky for Camp Rock, I happen to love Raise Your Voice. I think that in Camp Rock, a lot of the acting was over-done, and in This Is Me, Demi Lovato looked very awkward. Her movements didn't really go with the song, and a few times, you could really tell she was lip-syncing.  But still. I really liked that song, and it's stuck in my head.

"The Cone's the Shizzle."

So, yesterday, Kira and I went to see Get Smart. Normal enough, only we went in our pajamas. With teddy bears, a blanket, and a steel bowl to put the popcorn in. We were having a slumber party at the theatre. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. It was so fun. When we bought our tickets, the guy at the counter gave us this really stupid look. When we got the popcorn, however, the girls there gave us the large popcorn that's refillable, and when she saw the bowl, played along and dumped it in there. Then, she refilled the bag (because of it's refillable-ness), and proceeded to get us drinks. She even said that guys wouldn't get this, and that she would do it with her friend haha.  The actual movie was pretty good, with lots of laughs and such. Masi Oka, Hiro from Heroes, was in it as well. He was a geeky computer tech.  He was awesome. He was like the best character in the movie, even though he wasn't in it much. The cone of silence, in my opinion, was done better in the TV series, but it was still hilarious when Masi Oka said, "I never said the cone of silence was ready!!", and his "partner in crime", Lloyd, said, " 'The Cone's the Shizzle!!' Isn't that what you said?!" All in all, it was pretty good. Much better than The Love Guru, I'm guessing. After then movie, we saw so many people from our school! There was, Eric and his girlfriend (which was a little awkward, to tell you the truth), a bunch of grade sevens, and Gio with a bunch of grade nines. Also, we saw Natalia and Olivia. Anyways, I'm going to go watch The Goonies, because it's on, and I haven't seen it. Bye bye. :)

Today, Kira and I went shopping. Twas fun. We tried on some pretty outrageous shoes, cool clothes, and found a shirt that said "I denied your friend request." with a little sad face. We spent like 45 minutes in Sephora, when neither of us had any money left, and learned that all lip stains are pretty much the same color. I got short shorts for swimming for only 9:98 (and pretty much only because they were 9:98 haha), and this skirt that I saw, but regrettably didn't get last month, for $5 less than it was then. So waiting for it ended up paying off! We took photobooth pics, and they turned out hilarious (as they always tend to do). In one shot, we even had our shorts on our heads. I guess most of the awesome fun stuff that happened today can't be written about, you kinda had to be there. But it's all good, because at least the day was written about at all. Oh shoot, I just realized that I forgot to get a raspberry frozen yogurt for Yogen Fruz. That sucks.  Ah well, next time, I guess.
I think I'm going to go now though, because I have an L.A (English) exam tomorrow, so I should probably do a little studying.

Mikhaila's Mom. And Viva Piniata

So when I was at Mikhaila's, after Samantha left, Kathleen, Mikhaila, and I went to play Viva Piniata for XBox Live (lol). We were naming the piniatas that came into our garden, and when we were stumped on a name for Jack the Sparrow's mate, we got out a baby book. While we were at the "T"s, I saw Theresa, and it said it was "the reaper". When I read this, I automatically said "I would hate to be named Theresa." Mikhaila and Kathleen burst out laughing and between laughs, Kathleen reminded me that Mikhaila's mom ( who had just come downstairs to do laundry) was named Theresa. I felt a little bad, but laughed it off (as I couldn't help it) with them. Later on, when my mom had come to pick me up, but ended up talking in the entry way with "Theresa" (lol), Kathleen (for some reason that I can't remember at this late hour) brought up that one time when she had asked her dad what German's looked like, and he told her that they were blonde and chubby. Again, we burst out laughing. Again, Mikhaila said "My mom's German" between laughs. This made us laugh even more. Then I remembered something very funny. Mikhaila, who is very tiny, is blonde, and in now way chubby. However, on XBox Live, her username is Lil Chubbykins. As we were still laughing, I managed to get out the name, and the laughter refueled itself.
Oh, it was a good day.

Hocus Pocus

Today after school (well, at about 5:00  was when we actually left school), I went to my friend Mikhaila's house along with my other friends Kathleen and Samantha. When Kathleen found a pack of cards and started to do magic tricks with them, Mikhaila went looking for her old magic box. We looked through all of these different tricks, and I learned how to do like five. When I wanted to do this one with three little foam balls, I looked around, and could only see two. I asked if anyone could see the third ball, and Kathleen replied quickly "Not telling." The remark confused me a little bit, and I just gave her this weird look. All of a sudden, they all burst out laughing. I, of course, am not in on the joke. Naturally, this made me very curious. So, I started my search for the ball. I looked, and looked, and searched, and searched for about half an hour, but I just couldn't find it. By this time, Mikhaila didn't know where it was anymore, but Kathleen and Samantha knew full-well, and they were not about to give up their little secret. It went on for a while, and then we had to eat supper. Turns out, when I asked the first time, Mikhaila was going to hand me the ball, but as soon as Kathleen blurted out "not telling", she decided to play along. She put the little red ball in her ear at first (and the one closest to me nonetheless), and I didn't notice it. She switched ears, and even dropped it once. I have no idea how I missed all of this, but I did. And, they hid the thing from me for even longer AFTER I knew what had originally been the big laugh. I was not impressed.  Although, I did have a lot of fun, and even though they did make a fool out of me, I know they were just having fun, and I know they were doing it to have a good time. Admittedly, I actually did have a good time, because it was pretty fun, and I kinda liked having to look for it (even though I apparently missed it at the most obvious times and in the most obvious places).  Yay for Magic. =)

So, today was the last official day of classes. Exams start tomorrow (or Friday for a lot of people i my grade who don't have to write a religion exam), and after that, school's done! I can't believe how fast it went by! I had a great year, even though it had a slow start. It was so fun, and I think I did relatively well (except for Science that is.. -_-). I made a few new friends, strengthened relationships, and rekindled old friendships.
But today, some pretty funny things happened. First of all, when we were doing locker clean-out, my friend Jared got into his locker and my other friend Dylan hooked the lock. He didn't lock it, but Jared could not get out, and he was getting understandably annoyed. We kept him in there for about five minutes (which was admittedly very cruel), and at one point, Dylan actually closed the lock. He messed with Jared's mind by saying to him " Dude, this is my old lock! Jared, remember the one from the beginning of the year that I forgot the combination to?" It was hilarious, to say the least (the whole bit). This other kid, Chris, was also playing along and saying "Okay, dude, he went to get the janitor. They're gonna have to cut the lock off!"  When we finally let him out, he was covered in sweat, and his face was bright red. But we still couldn't stop laughing. It was way too funny.
Next, we had after school. I was wandering the halls looking for people to sign my yearbook, and instead of skipping down the hallway and making my presence known with a melodic "MS PAAAAALSERR!!!", I decided to attempt to surprise my five foot tall art teacher. So, as I saw part of her kneeling down behind her closet door talking to herself, I snuck up and stood (not hid, just stood) on the other side of the door with my head sticking out, watching her, and waiting for a reaction of any kind. The one I got was much more (and much better) than I had anticipated. As Ms Palser got up from her crouch to see if her papers were on her desk, she turned around; and shrieked. Not just a bit of an "eep." No, this was a full on shriek. It was as if a rat had just run across her feet. She was so freaked out. I was laughing soo hard, and even though I felt sort of bad for her, I couldn't contain myself. When I did manage to compose myself, I asked if she would sign my yearbook, and she gave me this look and told me that I didn't want her to sign it now, because she would probably say some horrible things about me. I thought that was amusing as well. Naturally, I went around telling everybody that I could find, and I even drew a "little" comic strip on my math teacher's white board depicting the event.
School is a funny place, isn't it?

AWARDSS!!!!!

Tonight was our school's awards night. I got an award for being on the Honour Roll, but I should've gotten Honours with Distinction instead. You know why? All because of my science teacher. She told me that I had a 79 and so if I turned in some assignments I had missed, it should go up. So, naturally, I did the assignments and handed them in. When I handed them in she told me that she had found them so I didn't need to redo them. Three weeks later, I asked her what my mark was because I wanted to see if it had gone up, and to my surprise, I was still at a 79. When I asked if she had added in my assignments, she replied "probably not." I'm not kidding about that one; she actually said "probably not." Also, in the first term, she hadn't counted one mark, and recorded my overall as 76, where it should've been 86. So I missed the mark on that one as well.
But enough about science and silly teachers; more about awards. I have decided that if there was such an award, I would win for best rambler. Most of my teachers would agree as well. Even kids who aren't in my classes would say me. I'm just that amazing. (lol) OOH do you wanna hear a stupid question that I actually asked in science at the beginning of the year? I asked if Osmosis Jones was an amoeba. Somebody told me he was a white blood cell, but that got me thinking; Osmosis Jones is a blue white blood cell, played by a black guy? Now this confused me very VERY much. Oh shoot, we're back to science aren't we? Oh and also, for the "Spirit of Learning" award, during the description, my teacher (who was presenting), was listing off all of these things, and I said to my mom "OH I COULD WIN THIS ONE!!" Then, she got to something about always arriving in a timely fashion and I was like "missed it by THIS much." Twas funny. (You had to be there I guess... Or just know me..)
SO, anyways, I have to go, because it's late, and I'm tired, but I will add more tomorrow, because this is no like my new obsession!!! =D

The Host with The Most.

LOL, did you like that little title? You know, instead of "the Hostess with the Mostest?"  No? Anyways, I thought it was clever.
So, I recently read Stephenie Meyer's latest piece of brilliance, and let me tell you; this book is so good. And I'm not just saying that to sound like a crazed fangirl. Stephenie Meyer is a phenomenal writer, and the emotions she conveys really hit you. You can relate to the characters she creates, and you can understand them. The images she paints in your mind stay with you, and they make a lasting impact. I really enjoyed this book, and if people assume that it will be a stupid book about aliens; it's not. As Stephenie herself even said, The Host is a science fiction novel for people who don't necessarily like science fiction (Just as Anne Rice readers probably wouldn't go for the Twilight series). It's a very well-written story with a lot of heart-warming parts. I cried a few times personally, but I can be a bit of a sap. I like the connections she made between her characters, and the way she showed you, instead of telling you, how Wanda is feeling and being treated. I would strongly recommend this book for people who like to experience what the character is experiencing, and for those who like to be swept up in a novel. Also, maybe for for someone who wouldn't mind a lot of reading. However, personally, I got so into the story that I finished it very quickly; I could not put it down. Hopefully, this will be the case for some of you (if anyone reads this), and I hope that this review can persuade more people to read this (and other Stephenie Meyer books), because it really is very good, and I think that most people would enjoy it.

My First Blog!!! EEE!

Hello LiveJournalers. This is my very first LiveJournal blog EVER!! Thus, I am excited. Today, Sunday, June 15th, is Father's Day. For Father's Day, I got my Daddy a Crib Board shaped like/ designed to look like a hockey rink (the pegs are even little sticks!!). It pretty much owns. Other than that, my day consisted of sleeping in, going to Church, and watching Scrubs on DVD with my brother.  I think that this will suffice for an opening entry. Even if it is short and semi-boring. I think I'm going to post a review of Stephenie Meyer's The Host, too. So I guess June 15th wont be that much of a waste of space on this here blog thing. OOOH that reminds me. I love blogthings. They are sooo fun, sooo addictive, and they always get my results so close to me personally. Just thought I would share that, because I can. Okay, so now I'm gonna post this sucker.
